Installing Toe Stud Junction Board in the Pedalboard

To install the TSI-1 junction board in your MIDIWorks pedalboard, you will need to remove the back plate of your pedalboard.

You should see the scanner board in the lower left-hand side of the reed switch cavity looking something like this:

Use the screws provided to attach the TSI-1 somewhere within cable reach of the existing pedalboard scanner (MKSC4a).

Once the TSI-1 is fastened, plug the 10-pin cable and the two 8-pin cables into the TSI-1 like so. Note the color-order of the wires. Usually, the black side of the connector should be at the top of the TSI-1.

Next, remove the reed-switch cable connector from JP-1 on the MKSC4a...

And plug it into the remaining row of pins on the TSI-1 marked "Pedal". The black side of the connector (or the brown wire) should be at the top.

 Plug the 8-pin part of the 10-wire cable from the TSI-1 into JP1 where you removed the reed switch harness with the brown wire on pin 1.

 Plug the remaining 2-pin connector into JP4 directly along-side the 4-pin connector that is already there.

Now you're ready to attach the remaining 8-pin cables to the TSI-2 toe stud bolster junction boards. 

After the toe studs have been attached to the front of your bolster, you can start plugging the two-pin connectors into the  TSI-2 junction board from left to right and top to bottom. 

It does not matter which colored wire goes on which pin. It only matters that both pins are in the sockets. If both pins are not in the sockets, the corresponding toe stud will not work.

...and so on.

Once all of the toe studs are plugged in, use two of the holes used by the toe stud screws in order to mount the TSI-2 board on the bolster.

Find the closest 9-pin cable coming out of your MIDIWorks pedalboard.

Plug the cable into the middle 9 pins of the TSI-2. 

Note that the white wire should be on the power pin marked "com" (for "common"). If you get it backwards, only one of the 8 pistons will work.
